The Cow Creek Umpqua Indian Foundation board of directors is comprised of eleven individuals; five tribal members, four community members, and two individuals appointed by the governor of the State of Oregon.

Staff members for CCUIF:

Carma Mornarich, Executive Director – Carma Mornarich serves as the Executive Director of the Cow Creek Umpqua Indian Foundation. A member of the CCUIF board since 2001,and transitioning into the director position in 2008 Carma understands and has great pride for the work of the Foundation. She is also a board member for the Lilja Family Fund through the Oregon Community Foundation. Carma has a BS from Oklahoma State University and a MA in Teaching from Oregon State University. Carma is an educator, philanthropist, mother of three, and her roots run deep within the community.

Kathie Olsen, Program Officer – Kathie Olsen, who served as Interim Executive Director for the Foundation continues to serve as a contracted program officer. Kathie brings to the foundation decades of experience in the nonprofit world, as a board member, an executive director, facilitator, trainer, and fund raiser. She holds a BA in Anthropology from the University of California at Santa Cruz, is a trained mediator, and has completed hundreds of hours of training in nonprofit governance.

Lois Schlegel, Program Officer – Lois Schlegel is contracted to serve as a program officer for the Cow Creek Umpqua Indian Foundation. Lois has spent over twenty years in direct social service as a parent educator, advocate, volunteer coordinator, case manager, supervisor and mental health counselor. She has served on a variety of nonprofit boards and been involved in grant writing and fund development. Her business background includes marketing, property and office management, and real estate investment. She holds a BS in Psychology, an MFA in Creative Writing and MS in Mental Health Counseling.
